About Us

We’re a mother daughter duo from Melbourne, Sam and Sian.

Yarn has always been woven through our lives. Sam grew up surrounded by knitters. Her Mum and Nana rarely had empty needles, and Melbourne winters meant cupboards full of hand knitted jumpers and cardigans made with loving hands. As the youngest of six, there was always a new baby to welcome, and learning to knit tiny booties for nieces and nephews marked the beginning of a lifelong love. Knitting has always been a place of comfort, a way to slow down and feel grounded.

Sam is also a qualified Florist, and you'll often see little hints of that world woven into her colourways. Soft garden palettes to vibrant combinations, and colours that feel like they've been gathered from nature.

Sian found her rhythm through crochet. She taught herself as a teenager and took to it naturally, turning yarn into beautiful blankets and toys. She’s proudly pink obsessed and pours that joy into dyeing many of our softest, prettiest pastel shades.

Dyeing our own yarn felt like a natural extension of everything we already loved. In 2021, we launched Lovely Little Yarns, blending the warmth of tradition with fresh, modern colour. Every skein is hand dyed in small batches here in Melbourne, carefully created to feel both nostalgic and new.

For us, this isn’t just about yarn. It’s about love and connection. The kind that passes through generations. The kind that’s stitched into baby blankets and winter knits. The connection between makers and their yarn, who understand the love that is woven into every stitch.
